Biography

Brian Rose was born in New Bedford, and currently resides in Dartmouth, MA.

Brian currently works for the District Attorney's office for the special Out-Reach program, helping to mentor kids of Bristol County

Brian began his professional career with Boston Red Sox organization after being their 2nd pick in the June 1994 draft, making his M.L. debut in 1997.

During his 1997 Campaign with Pawtucket, Brian was selected as the starter in the AAA All- Star game. With 17 wins and a 3.02 era, he was voted Most Valuable Pitcher and Rookie of the Year for the International League.

On April 19, 1999 he became the first Boston rookie to pitch a home opener since Jim Bagby, Jr. in 1938. Three years later, Brian was traded to the Colorado Rockies along with Jeff Frye and John Wasdin for Mike Lansing, Rolando Arrojo and Rick Croushhore. He was immediately inserted into the Rockies rotation for the final two months and went 6-6 in 12 starts. In 2001, Brian spent time with the New York Mets and the Tamp Bay Devil Rays. Brian has started 54 games at the major league level and has a total of 68 career appearances. He was also 76-49 with a lifetime 3.68 era in the minor leagues.
